Tributes paid to former district council deputy leader


Tributes have been paid following the passing of former Staffordshire Moorlands District Council deputy leader, Arthur Forrester.

Current deputy leader,Councillor Mark Deaville led tributes online saying he was deeply saddened by the news with Councillor Joe Porter shared similar sentiments.
Councillor Forrester served on Staffordshire moorlands district council between 2016 and 2019
Councillor Mark Deaville said:

“Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a great friend and colleague at #StaffsMoorlandsDC Arthur Forrester was a great community leader and Councillor. More importantly, he was a thoroughly decent and nice man. A true gentleman! Deepest sympathy to Arthur’s family ”

Councillor Joe Porter said:

“Very sad news that former Deputy Leader of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and local Councillor Arthur Forrester has passed away. He was a hardworking community leader who passionately cared about the Staffordshire Moorlands. Arthur was a true gentleman and will be deeply missed by us all. Sending my sympathies and prayers to Arthur’s family during this difficult period.”
