Leek high school have confirmed that they have been made aware of a positive test result for COVID-19 in year 10 at the school.
All members of the year group have been instructed to self isolate and if well can return to school from October 21st.
All members of the year 10 year group were sent home from school immediately and were not permitted to use school transport.
A letter sent to parents today states that the year group must isolate in line with government guidance.
A spokesperson for the school said
“Due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Year 10 we are asking that all members of this year group self-isolate for a period of 14 days from today. The date that students should return is 21st October.
Year 10 are being sent home immediately and must make their own way home or be picked up and may not use school transport as explained in our letter of 18th September.
School currently remains open for all other year groups.
